Negro Burned To Death In A Pajaro Cabin
WATSONVILLE, Feb. 19. -- Burned to death when trapped in his cabin, a negro bookback known only as “Chris” lay in a Watsonville morgue today.
According to Coroner J. A. Cornett, the man was taken home early Sunday morning and put to bed by friends. An hour later his shack back of the Pajaro river was discovered in flames.
Agonized shout of the burning man were heard by helpless by-standers who could not get near the blazing shack. When the fire was extinguished searchers found the body. a charred mass.
The man was between 40 and 50 years of age, friends said. |
