Colored Teams Wins.
The colored team yesterday afternoon defeated the crack "All-Stars" without any trouble, though the All Stars were short a few men. They had put in a few outsiders that couldn't catch a ball with a basket.
Crubs, the colored pitcher, pitched good ball, and never did go astray. His support was O.K. He only allowed six hits.
Amaya lost control of the ball and could not find the plate. He was hit freely. It seemed that the colored boys could slam the ball wherever they wanted.
The game closed with a score of 8 to 4. The batteries were : Colored team. L. Berry catcher, Crubs pitcher, All Stars: E. Owens catcher, Al Amaya pitcher. |
